Eastern Box Turtle

Eastern box turtles spend their whole lives within a home range of just a few hundred feet. If one gets moved out of that range, it will often spend the rest of its life trying to find its way back.
If you see one crossing a road, you can help by moving it in the direction it was already headed, just don't carry it far from where you found it.
