Visual description

A tall, narrow watercolor painting on white paper, showing five orange starfish-like shapes stacked vertically from top to bottom. Each shape has curling, tapered arms radiating from a small yellow circular center. The artist's signature, "Thad," appears in the lower right corner.

I just picked up a brush, looked at my palette, and started painting these dancing stars out of the blue. I had a narrow piece of cold press paper on hand, so I used it. I told myself it was just a study, something to practice with.

I ended up liking it more than I expected. So, it is finished and signed.
