Still Purple
Visual description
An abstract divided into vertical panels of muted green and dark brown. A thin green line drops from the top edge of the canvas and ends in a small purple sphere near the bottom of the composition. The sphere catches light on its upper left side. The rest of the canvas stays dark and quiet around it.
I was sitting quiet one evening, watching Jolynn read. Everything felt still. I thought about her favorite color, purple, and how it would sit inside my own green world. I pictured a clock stopped mid-swing, the pendulum frozen instead of moving. That's what I wanted to paint. One purple ball, still, holding its place in a world that doesn't usually stop. She's important in my life.
